Paul Dalen / Owner

I've been involved in music my entire life, As a musician in my teens and 20's and a tour manager and FOH sound engineer after that. I retired from touring in the 90's and worked for Clear Channel / Bill Graham Presents in San Francisco.

In 2001 I moved to New York and spent the next 5+ years at Maine Road Management. At the time of my departure the client roster included David Bowie, David Byrne, Luna, Joe Henry, Beth Orton, Helmet, Dean and Britta, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Air, Jim White, Laura Cantrell and Joe Ely.

In 2006 I created Reverse Thread with one goal in mind: to work steadfastly with people that I respect, without interruptions or compromises, helping this small group of talented individuals reach their goals.

Without the distractions inherent in a large client roster I am free to be completely focused on my sole task: working with a short list of artists, producers and mixers that I admire professionally and enjoy personally.

It's a time of profound change (and opportunities for artists and producers) in the music business. Seeking out and understanding new trends is invaluable, and I spend a great deal of time helping my clients build authentic, grass-roots and lasting relationships with their fans.

Social Causes / Community Action

Reverse Thread supports and makes financial contributions to the following groups:

Human Rights Campaign The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against GLBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.

New Yorkers Against The Death Penalty. NYADP is a statewide coalition of organizations and individuals committed to the abolition of capital punishment. NYADP advocates for public policy change through education, grass-roots organizing, and lobbying.

Lower East Side Harm Reduction Center: The LESHRC was founded in 1990 as an all-volunteer, community-based effort to stop the rapidly expanding HIV/AIDS epidemic. Neighborhood activists, religious leaders, residents, and service providers joined forces in the streets to provide harm reduction services to the diverse communities of New York City's Lower East Side, who were particularly hard hit by this health crisis.

Exchanging clean needles for used ones is a proven method for reducing the transmission of AIDS and other blood-borne diseases and does not, as some have suggested, increase drug use in any way.
